Alan P. Krasnoff, 60, a chiropractor who was first elected to City Council in 1990, will be Chesapeake's newest mayor.

Alan Krasnoff – a record of service

For 18 years, Alan Krasnoff has served us honorably and well and been elected to five consecutive terms as a member of Chesapeake’s City Council.


  • First elected to City Council in 1990
  • Currently council liaison to channel 48, municipal retirees, planning, public utilities, libraries, historic preservation and budget
  • Member and former chairman, Hampton Roads Planning District Commission, 1990 to 1997
  • Member and former chairman, Metropolitan Planning Organization, 1992 to 1997
  • Member, Chesapeake Planning Commission, 1986 to 1988
  • Chairman, 1988 Library Bond Referendum
  • Chairman, 1986 Road Bond Referendum
